Bouygues UK has contracted David Bailey Furniture Systems (DBFS) to provide the healthcare fittings for a flagship project from University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH).
As part of the contract, DBFS will manufacture and install an approximate 5,000 items of healthcare furniture, in addition to a further 4,500 items of assisted furniture and equipment provided by UCLH. Specifically, DBFS will supply storage units, worktops, shelving, bedroom furniture, reception and staff counters throughout the cutting-edge cancer and surgery facility.
Based in the lower ground floors of a state-of-the-art building, the UCLH Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) Centre will be one of only two high-energy PBT NHS facilities in the UK, with the second installed at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester. Meanwhile, the floors above ground will house Europe’s largest facility for the treatment of blood disorders.
