A review of the NHS Health Check service will explore new intelligent, predictive checks, taking age, risk factors and lifestyle into account.
Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Hancock has announced an evidence-based review into the NHS Health Check service.
Currently, the checks are offered to anyone between the ages of 40 and 74 to help spot early signs of conditions which could cause early death, such as heart disease, kidney disease and type 2 diabetes. At present, however, these checks don’t necessarily pay attention to people’s individual health risks or needs.
