The NHS has announced it aims to slash the amount of single-use plastic used in hospital canteens, as part of its drive to reduce waste and make hospitals healthier for patients and staff.
Cutting out Single-Use Plastic
High-profile high street names, including Marks & Spencer and WHSmith, are also backing the call from NHS Chief Executive Simon Stevens which aims to dramatically cut the amount of single-use plastics in hospitals, as part of a package of measures in the NHS Long Term Plan to reduce the environmental impact of the health service.
