Around 7000 surgeries throughout England have come together to form more than 1200 primary care networks, with the ability to deliver a wider range of specialist care services.

Longer Appointments

Patients will now have the opportunity to gain access to longer appointments with the GP from Monday 1 July 2019, under a new initiative which will see practices working together. Local surgeries now have the ability to recruit teams including pharmacists, physiotherapists, paramedics, physician associates and social prescribing link workers, all of whom can help people unpick complex issues that can affect their wellbeing. Due to this GPs’ time will be freed up, enabling them to focus on their most vulnerable patients.
