NHS Lothian Launches Green Health Strategy

NHS Lothian has launched Scotland’s first health board-led ‘Green Health Strategy’ in recognition of the country’s aptly named ‘natural health service’.

Authored by Greenspace Scotland on behalf of NHS Lothian, the ‘Greenspace and Health Strategic Framework’ hopes to cultivate the ‘NHS outdoor estate’ – improving physical and mental wellbeing through our interactions with the great outdoors. A host of green health activities have since been proposed including therapeutic gardening, health walks and green gyms.
