Orthopaedic specialists based at NHS Golden Jubilee (NHSGJ) in Clydebank have carried out a study which could give elite cyclists a competitive edge by using a shorter pedal crank.

A state-of-the-art motion capture system used by the GJNH Orthopaedic Research Team to collect data on patients who have had hip or knee replacements was used to carry out the trial.
