Education Secretary Damian Hinds sets out the next steps in bringing together services for young people in need of mental health support.
Pupils struggling with mental health issues are to benefit from more joined-up care and support across schools, colleges and specialist NHS services, in a national roll-out of a £9.3 million training scheme.
Every UK school, college and alternative education provider will be offered training through a series of workshops as part of the Link Programme, with the most appropriate member of staff from each put forward to take part alongside mental health specialists. The scheme is designed to help improve the collaboration between education organisations and professional NHS mental health services. Furthermore, it will continue to raise awareness of mental health issues in young people and improve referrals to specialist help when needed.
