The Executive Director of NHS Providers in England has said that the number of protective gowns available to frontline NHS in some parts of the country has become ‘critically low’ in the last few days.

Chris Hopson has called for a ‘more sustainable supply’ of gowns, which are imported from China. On Sunday, the Health and Social Care Secretary, Matt Hancock, said that the UK Government was increasing the amount of PPE available to staff.
