School Sport and Activity Action Plan will help set children up to lead healthy lives
New government plans are giving children more opportunities to access 60 minutes of sport or physical activity each day, whether in school, after school or at weekends or during the school holidays.
The School Sport and Activity Action Plan was outlined by Education Secretary Damian Hinds, Sport Minister Mims Davies and Minister for Public Health, Seema Kennedy. The initiative will set out a range of measures aimed at strengthening the role of sport in a young person’s routine, explain how teachers and parents can play their part and promote a joined-up approach to physical activity and mental wellbeing.
