The Scottish Government pledged last year to invest an additional £60 million into school counselling services across the country. It was announced on Tuesday 26 November 2019 that agreement has now been reached between the Scottish Government and the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) on the specifics of the funding allocation.
Fresh Funding
Secondary school pupils requiring help will be offered professional counselling services by next September. Current counselling services will continue to be delivered and Pupil Equity or Scottish Attainment funding will continue, which will allow local authorities to redistribute funds to other areas of need.
