A £1.9 million Rough Sleeping Grant has been awarded today, Tuesday 22 October 2019, to six projects which involve partnerships between Local Authorities (Las) and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). The Government funding will go towards testing models that provide better access to health services for those who suffer from mental ill health as well as drug and alcohol dependency.
Rough Sleeping Grant
The six projects aim their services at people who are currently experiencing or could be at risk of returning to rough sleeping. Those who live and sleep on the streets have poorer health than those who have homes to go to which means that they tend to suffer mentally and physically, as well as often having substance misuse issues, frequently as a result of a severe trauma in their lives.
