The Irish Government’s plans to replace and upgrade dozens of state-operated community-based nursing homes are running behind schedule and is more than €385m over budget, the Department of Health has said.
Behind Schedule
In early 2016 the then Government announced its plans to redevelop or replace around 90 community nursing units, which were mainly older buildings, over a number of years in order to meet new regulatory requirements which are due to come into effect in January 2022.
