Patient Safety is a Core Priority for NHS Trusts

The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared Tuesday 17th September 2019 as the first world patient safety day. Globally, 134 million adverse events contribute to 2.6 million deaths each year due to unsafe care.

To mark this date, the Royal College of Nursing has launched a campaign to address nursing shortages in the NHS. They warn that the 40,000 shortfall of NHS nurses is putting patient safety in danger.
