A new treatment that has the ability to help lung cancer patients has been approved by NHS Scotland.
The Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) has made the decision to allow the drug, named Keytruda or pembrolizumab, to be used along with chemotherapy to treat people at an advanced stage of the most common form of lung cancer. The decision has been welcomed by doctors and campaigners alike.
