New figures from NHS England and Dementia UK show that the associated cost of dementia is currently £23 billion a year, with this figure being expected to triple by 2040. Along with this, the number of those dying from Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia is also set to increase and still remains a leading cause of death in England and Wales, accounting for 12.8% of all deaths registered in 2018.
There is currently no cure available, but catching Alzheimer’s early on can delay the onset of the disease and slow its progression.
