Following a successful partnership between NHS England and NHS Supply Chain (NHSSC), radiotherapy equipment has been replaced or upgraded at 38 cancer centres.

Linear Accelerators are the main treatment systems for external beam radiotherapy. A lack of investment since the early 2000s meant that over 100 systems were either over their 10-year life span, or in simple need of an upgrade. With this in mind, a significant investment was required to ensure that patients across England had access to treatment using the latest technology.
